How paying works

Each home shows how you can pay, and you choose when you book: by card through ClubRents, which holds the money until you’ve checked in, or straight to the owner by bank transfer, a payment app such as TWINT, or at the property.

Paying by card

  1. Book and pay

Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay are processed by Stripe; we never see your card number.

  2. We hold the payment

It waits, locked, until you check in.

  3. You check in

If the owner cancels before then, you get a full refund.

  4. The owner is paid

24 hours after check-in (48 hours for monthly rentals), it goes to their bank.

Paying the owner directly

With a bank transfer or a payment app, your booking is confirmed here and you get the owner’s details straight away, with 3 days to pay. For Swiss and euro bank accounts there’s a QR code to scan with your banking app. Some owners ask for a deposit first and the balance closer to arrival; we remind you before each payment.

The money goes straight to the owner, so ClubRents can’t hold or refund it. If you cancel, the owner refunds you under the cancellation policy. Only pay to the details on your booking page or in our confirmation email, and contact us if anyone asks you to pay somewhere else.

Pay at the property

Your booking is confirmed here and you pay the owner when you arrive, in cash or however they accept.

Booking far ahead

Paying by card for a stay more than 60 days away? Nothing is charged when you book. Your card is saved securely by Stripe and charged 60 days before check-in. If that payment fails, we email you and you have 72 hours to pay before the booking is released.

Requests

Some owners approve each booking. With a card, the payment is only authorised when you send the request, and charged if the owner accepts within 48 hours. Otherwise the hold is released.

Monthly rentals

For 28 nights or more you pay the first month up front, then the rent each month directly to the owner. We remind you a few days before each payment.

Security deposits

Some owners hold a deposit on your card instead of asking for cash. It’s reserved, not charged, from shortly before check-out until 2 days after it, and released unless the owner reports damage.
